Last Wednesday
while we were having our weekly club meeting , our Vice
President Kendall and Treasurer Alex together with PP Jack
were conducting the eye screening for our Operation Squint in
Riverside Chapel.

Last week, we had
the visit by a 15 strong team from our sister club from RC
Canterbury for the annual Eye Screening which was held in
Roxas City and various towns in Kalibo together with the
Cataract Foundation.

held at Business Inn and everyone agreed that it was a well

Rotary Golfest at Marapara Golf and Country Club and we
turnovered 3 Day Care Centers in our GK Rotary Village in

It was nice to take
a break from the humdrum of work and city life. The fellowship
held last May 17 at the rest house of Rtn. Jojo Bonnin in
Alangilan provided the Northeners who were able to make it
with a lot of rest and relaxation. The weather was cold while
the pool was warm. The road was good but there was also the
occasional rough roads. We even had fog.

The current problem with the ever rising prices of oil has
led to dramatic increase in all basic commodities. One of
theses is our energy consumption. Our speaker today will try
to talk about an alternative energy.

As an offshoot of
our last speaker last week who talked on the topic of solar
energy. Our guest speaker today will also talk about an
alternative fuel source particularly Ethanol. Let us try to
be open to the possibility of using more alternatives and
not rely solely on crude oil or coal. Not only are these
limited but potentially damaging to our environment as
well..

Welcome to our last edition of E-Kahirupan for this Rotary
