July 16 2008 Indeed a "Clear Day" to start Rotary Year 2008-2009. As the new Club President, there are many things that inspired me. The successful induction ceremonies we had is one. the signing of a MOA among our club, our sister club Paranaque Midtown and the Bacolod Doctor's Hospital establishing a Neo-Natal ICU highlighted that occasion.Our thanks to the following Rotarians who came to represent Paranaque Midtown     full story
   
July 22 2008 This afternoon we are honored to have as our guest speaker, the Honorable Congressman Monico Puentevella from the lone district of Bacolod City. He will be talking about his achievements in Congress as well as show us his report card. This is an opportunity for us to ask him questions that are relevant to our district.      full story
   
August 6 2008 This evening mark our second club meeting held on a Friday night. This is an offshoot of a proposal from some club members who wanted a fellowship meeting. This was approved by the board and carried out during the last month of IPP RJ's term.      full story
     
August 12 2008 Last Friday's fellowship meeting saw our four (4) Paul Harris Fellows honored and two inbound and outbound Rotex students giving us an overview of their plans. That was indeed an enjoyable evening with our lovely Anns leading our community singing.      full story
     
August 13 2008 Last Saturday afternoon the Northerners undertook a significant activity - the sorting of books to be donated to the various schools in the city and province of Negros Occidental. Rotarians PP Bobby Tinsay, PP Junjun Jalandoni, PP Roy Hojilla, Dir. Carmelo Mabayag, Dir. Kendall Ang, Admin. Sec. Janice and I led this activity. Also present were the principals, teachers and librarians of the Eleven (11) schools which are the recipients of this grant.      full story
     
August 20 2008 Today, we shall hear our newly inducted Rotarian Jan Michael "Jinno" Garcia talk on his classification, Banking Savings. At the same time, after his talk, our Vice President, Manolet Puentevella, who chairs the Membership Committee will enlighten us with his plans and objectives he intends to pursue in his committee. Let us all give him the support he needs to achieve these goals.      full story
     
August 29 2008 Last August 23 -25 was our club's first out of town fellowship at Dauin, Negros Oriental, a coastal town which is a few kilometers away from Dumaguete City.Northerners with their families had a grand time. Upon arrival, we had some sort of educational tour at the Silliman Marine Lab where bone remains of whales and marine specimens were displayed. There were live crocodiles too. We also had the chance to visit the Silliman Museum of ancient artifacts.      full story
     
September 3 2008 This week our activity is focused mainly on the preparations for the forthcoming District Membership Development Seminar. This included calls directly to the Presidents of the different Rotary Clubs in Panay and visits made by our fellow Northerners to the Rotary Clubs of Negros Occidental. Likewise, for the second time a talk to the Council of Presidents was done which yielded a positive response.      full story
     
September 10 2008

Today, let us give our District Governor Emma Nava a warm welcome on her visit to our club. She is here to listen to our presentations regarding our plans and goals as well as our concerns for the Rotary Year 2008-2009. At the same time she will also convey to us her views and thrusts on projects she plans to undertake during her term to Make Dreams Real.      full story

     
September 26 2008 Last Sept. 13, 2008, our club hosted the District Membership Development Seminar at the Bacolod Executive Inn. It was a well attended affair with 130 Rotarians from both the islands of Panay and Negros Occidental participating. It was a very successful seminar and the speakers were likewise very good in discussing their topics.      full story
     
October 8 2008 Last Thursday, October 2, 2008 was another milestone for our Club with the signing of a Sisterhood Agreement with RC Paranaque and a Memorandum Of Agreement on Cleft Lip and Palate and Hydrocephalus Project. Though all Rotary Clubs in Negros Occidental are participants, but RCBN was chosen to lead in this project. There were 6 RC Parañaque members who came headed by the President Lito Ramos and PDG Herman Gamboa.      full story
     
October 15 2008 Today, we shall have two important undertakings. First, is the acceptance of nominations for President Elect for the Rotary Year 2009-2010 and the other is the presentation of a club level competition for our Voice of Our Youth.      full story
     
October 22 2008 After spending more than a week in the island province of Bohol doing the Eye and Ear Screening Project, I am now back in our home ground. It was a very satisfying experience helping our less fortunate brothers and sisters in that place. I can see in their faces the excitement that inspite of their poverty there are people from other places who visited and willing to help them.      full story
     
November 12 2008 Warm greetings to my fellow Northerners! It is refreshing to welcome everyone to our regular meeting after a long lull due to to the holidays. But perhaps what most of us must have missed was the Fellowship among RC Bacolod, RC Bacolod South, and our club RC Bacolod North last Oct. 30, 2008 The theme was a halloween party where members wore costumes and masks.      full story
     
November 19 2008 Today we shall elect a PE who will serve as the 37th President of our club. This is a long overdue exercise to fill up the vacant position. The contenders in today's exercise are VP Manolet, Dir.Carmelo, Dir. Ernie, and Rtn. Harish. May the best man wins.      full story
     
November 28 2008 Tonight, we shall have a regular meeting instead of the fellowship as we did previously. Although it's the last Friday of the month yet we decided to have this evening as a regular meeting day because of several reasons. On of these is the coming Christmas Party. Preparations have started and the Rotarians assigned for the different tasks might take up some things with our felloe members.      full story
     
December 3 2008 Today we shall have as our speaker Mr. Jared Rubin a Grade 9 student of the USLS-IS. He is the undisputed champion of the recently concluded Voice of Our Youth (District Level Competition). We hope he can duplicate his feat and become the National Champion.       full story
     
December 10 2008 Yesterday, book sorting and distribution were conducted at the Camingawan/Harish Warehouse. Ten schools sent their teacher representatives and even their school principals. I have seen from the faces of the teachers the happiness they felt for being given the oppurtunity to have the books. During the activity, PP Rick was busy arranging all the books as well as attending to the questions of the teachers.        full story
     
December 17 2008 Today marks another milestone for our club as we will be electing our new set of officers and directors for the Rotary Year 2009 - 2010. Highlighting this is the election of our President for the Rotary Year 2010 - 2011. The Rotarians nominated for the position are: Dir. Kendall Ang, VP Manolet Puentevella and Rtn. January 7 2009 GREETINGS for a Peaceful and Prosperous New Year! AT the same time I would like to welcome all Northeners to our first meeting for the year 2009. January 21 2009 Today in our meeting. Dir. Romy Lopez will give us a talk on our RYLA, a lot of preparations have already been done and he will give us an overview of the program. The RYLA Youth Camp will start this Friday, January 23, 2009 and winds up on Sunday, January 25, 2009.        full story
     
January 28 2009 The 9th RYLA and 12th Youth Camp last Jan, 23, 24 & 25 was a success!
