The Rotary Club of Bacolod North (RCBN) was again the recipient of multiple District Awards, among which were the Outstanding Club and Outstanding Club President (Pres.
Alberto Nellas) for the 5th straight year. Even more significant is the fact that, among the eighteen (18) awards received by the club, seven (7) were Awards of
Distinction accorded to 8 individual members of the club.

The awards were given during the recently-concluded Rotary District Conference (RI District 3850) held in Iloilo City last March 5-7, 2009. District Governor Emma Nava (RC Central Iloilo) presented the awards. RC Bacolod North Pres. Bert Nellas led the clubs contingent to the DISCON.

This year’s honors to RC Bacolod North not only recognizes the club’s achievements in its quest to “Make Dreams Real”, but also distinguishes the club as a major source of leadership for the District. Among the awards received by RCBN are: Outstanding Club, Outstanding Club President (Pres. Alberto Nellas), Most Outstanding Community Service, Best Community Service Project, Governor’s Special
Award, Governor’s Citation, Outstanding Rotaract Club, and Best Rotaract Project.

Members who received special District Award were Past District Governor Chick Garcia, Past President Louie Gonzaga, Past President Biboy Jocson, Past President Bobby Tinsay, and Past President Jun-Jun Jalandoni as well as Vice Pres. Manolet Puentevella, Sec. Alex Lee received the Distinguish Secretary Award.
