Northerners traveled to Bohol to conduct
their traditional sight saver project
| Northerners traveled to Bohol to
conduct their traditional sight saver project, now dubbed as Eye
and Ear Screening jointly held with the Cataract Foundation of
the Philippines. This foundation also a product of RCBN and the
offshoot of its sight saver program. With the active support
from Rotarians and Rotaractors of the Rotary Club of Tagbilaran,
the group visited various towns all over the island conducting
cataract screening among the townsfolk and ear screening among
elementary schools.
RCBN sister club from Australia, Rotary Club
of Canterbury- Melbourne, sent a seventeen (17)- strong
contingent to undertake both screenings. Again, another
milestone was achieved as clubs from three (3) Rotary Districts
worked jointly!
Talk about International understandings, this project was a
working example of Australians and Filipinos working together!
To cap the weeklong event, The Rotary Club of Tagbilaran signed
sisterhood agreements with RC Bacolod North and RC Canterbury-
Melbourne.
